Icarus' Second Ascent

DESCRIPTION
Icarus' Second Ascent is a Blockmesh Level for a stylized game inspired by the Greek myth of Icarus. The level includes 1 Main Objective, 3 Optional Objectives, and 3 interconnected paths for players to explore. The gameplay within is non-linear to provide replayability and varying experiences for the players. The level is limited to a 70x70m space, so I introduced a lot of verticality to make the level more engaging.
I designed and prototyped all the mechanics before blockmeshing to facilitate the intended gameplay. The main player mechanic is inspired by the old stick-hand toys and allows the player to Grapple & Swing around the level. Since this mechanic is action-based, I had to create an environment that felt smooth and satisfying to play through.
